I’ve always loved bar culture. Having worked as a bartender for many years, I became an expert in cocktailing, spirits, wine & beer but also developed an eye for bar design, experience curation and branding from both a functional and a design point of view. My love for early twentieth century cocktail aesthetics as well as mid-century architecture and advertising design, led me down a fun path designing and programing bars and restaurants such as Father’s Study Speakeasy Bar and & Son Steakhouse in Manhattan. To me there is nothing better than sitting at a dark wood bar, looking up at the shelves of whiskey. Artisans spirits aged to perfection with a label design to match. Something special about those centuries old distilleries proudly displaying a logo that tells their story as much as the whiskey.
